Maven Artist Series 002: Saber

The Maven Artist Series is a limited-edition strain and artwork collaboration release where connoisseurs of flower and art intersect. The relationship between art and cannabis has long been a catalyst for cultural innovation and inspiration. This collection highlights the spirit of self-expression and creativity and focuses on the connection between cannabis and each artist. Every edition is custom-made and authentically curated from seed to sale, including a unique package design featuring an exclusive, original piece of art.

We are proud to introduce Opal, the latest addition to our acclaimed Artist Series, conceived in collaboration with renowned international graffiti artist Ryan Weston Shook, aka Saber. Opal represents a profound synergy of art, science, and advocacy. Our journey began over a year ago when we embarked on a meticulous breeding and phenotypic hunting process—our goal was to identify a cannabis strain that could best help Saber manage his medical condition.

As an epilepsy fighter, Saber lent his invaluable insights into this initiative, diligently documenting the impact of various strains on his symptoms. Through research and development, we began to discern patterns and discover key factors that significantly influenced his condition. The most fascinating insight we gained from our research was the essential role of terpenes. While cannabinoids certainly played their part, we found it was the presence of specific terpenes that seemed to produce the most profound effects. We discovered two terpenes in particular, Myrcene and Linalool, consistently provided positive effects on Saber's condition. As a result, our unique strain, Opal, is abundant in these two beneficial terpenes, along with a significant presence of Limonene.

Opal's journey is a testament to the healing potential of medicinal cannabis, exemplifying the powerful interaction between its therapeutic compounds and the human body. But more than that, it symbolizes the passion and creativity that drive innovation in the cannabis industry -uniting artistic expression, scientific exploration, and a shared mission to raise awareness about the benefits of cannabis for individuals with epilepsy. It is a privilege to be able to give back and help others in need of relief, and we feel so fortunate to be able to provide this healing ritual to those who need it most.

That’s why we have chosen to partner with The Epilepsy Foundation and donate a percentage of all Opal proceeds to help support further research and education.

Opal is a bold, iridescent Indica-dominant Hybrid cross between our Blue Agape and Carbon Candy displays violet-hued buds interwoven with copper pistils coated with a layer of trichomes resembling sugar crystals. A flowery aroma reminiscent of rosewood enhances upon inhalation and is balanced by the sharpness of fir needle and fuel, while a burst of confectionary notes remains on the finish.
